“Giorgos is a Athens-based illustrator & cartoonist from Greece.”
Born and raised in the small city of Ioannina in northwestern Greece, I’ve been doodling as far as I can remember. After graduating from high school, I moved to Athens to study physics. This led to a 20-year long journey in the field of science, which while demanding, never managed to take my mind of drawing!
Self taught mostly, I enjoy all forms of art, from colour painting to sculpting, however my favourite genres are pencil and ink sketching and cartoon drawing. I love creating anything from one-panel comic strips to graphic novel stories.
My personal style has been greatly influenced by the illustrators and cartoonists I admire and continuously draw inspiration from. Among them are many famous Disney artists like Carl Barks, Romano Scarpa, Massimo De Vita, and Luciano Bottaro, as well as Franco-Belgian comics legends Hergé, Moebius, Edgar P. Jacobs, and Savard, to name a few.
I prefer mostly pen and b/w ink, but I’m always focused on self-improvement and expanding my skills by testing new techniques.
